The Crewe chronicle, 7 March 1936: FUNERAL OF MRS BAKER. The funeral of Mrs Baker took place on Friday. Canon EF Hicks conducted a service at the parish church and at the cemetery. Mr R Blakeman, the organist, played “Blessed under departed”, Spohr, and “O rest in the Lord”, Mendelssohn. The hymns were “Let Saints on earth in concert sing” and “Abide with me”.
