domestic servant of Great Ayton, was born in Great Ayton on 12 February 1887 (1939 Register). The birth was registered
by M E Farndale, mother, of Great Ayton,at Stokesley District. His
father’s name was William and it seems possible that
his farther’s surname was Barnes. His mother’s name
was Mary Elizabeth. He was baptised on 1 March 1887 at Great Ayton. William Barnes Farndale’s
birth was registered in Stokesley District in the first quarter of 1887 (GRO Vol 9d page 609).
