Fraserburgh
1862
Alexander
Burnett, the son of James and Christina (nee Eaton) Burnett (BUR00009), was born on 5 August
1862 in Fraserburgh (Scotland Births and
Baptisms).
Many years ago Gerrard Burnett asked
Sydney Burnett if Alexander’s middle name Simpson, was given in memory
of his grandmother Ann Simpson’s father, Alexander Simpson of Fordoun. We don’t know the answer, but this seems likely,
as it followed customary family naming traditions.
