Ann Simpson was born in or about 1802 to 1804 at Fetteresso, Stonehaven (her gravestone suggests 1804).

Ann became a schoolmistress (Her son, James Burnett’s death certificate).

Ann married ? Burnett perhaps in about 1825. The name James on their son’s death certificate seems to be an error.

1826

James Burnett (BUR00009) was born in September 1826.

1834

Her husband, ? Burnett, died in 1834.

There was a 36 year old Fraser Burnett from Fraserburgh who died at sea in 1834 but I’m not sure this was him.

She seems to have had various suiters after her husband’s death.

1838

She had a daughter, Jean, born in or about 1838. Jean later travelled from East Canada on a wagon trail to Kansas and Missouri, where they established a ranch.

1888

Ann Simpson died on 12 November 1888 (monumental record). She seems to have reverted to her maiden name after her husband’s death.
