Sampson Baker was the son of Sampson and Millicent (nee Goodale) Baker (FAR00017). Sampson Baker was born at Market Bosworth, Leicestershire, near Nuneaton, just north of Coventry. He was baptised on 16 October 1614 there.

Sampson Baker married Ester Martin at St Michael, Lichfield (north of Birmingham), Staffordshire on 9 October 1640 or 1641.

Sampson Baker died in or about 1670 at Stepney, London. He was a widower by then. His will was proved on 27 June 1670 at Stepney. Administration of the estate was given to Jn Hubbucke, guardian during the minority of William Baker, his son.
