Nicholas (Nic) Baker was the son of Sampson and Millicent (nee Goodale) Baker (FAR00017). He was born in or about 1624 and baptised on 2 June 1624 at Market Bosworth (Market Bosworth Parish Records).

There was a Nicholas Baker of Colchester for whom probate was granted on 3 November 1645 (Prerogative Courts of Canterbury), but this may not be him.
