1936: FUNERAL OF MRS BAKER.
The funeral of Mrs Baker took place on Friday. Canon EF Hicks conducted a
service at the parish church and at the cemetery. Mr R Blakeman, the organist,
played “Blessed under departed”, Spohr, and “O rest in the Lord”, Mendelssohn.
The hymns were “Let Saints on earth in concert sing” and “Abide with me”. The
mourners were Mr Richard Baker, son, Miss Baker, Miss Nellie Baker, Mr and Mrs
Scott, son-in-law and daughters, Miss Charity Baker, Mrs Bell Baker, Mr. John
