Say aged 21 at
her wedding, then she was born about 1567. It seems likely that she was the
daughter of William Farndale (FAR00063). She was
probably born in Skelton or Kirkleatham.

Jane farndell and Valentine Wraye
married at Skelton on 11 February 1588 (Skelton Parish Records, Teeside
Archives).
Valentine Wraye seems to have been a Yeoman
farmer (see below).

On 3 April
1611 Valentine Wraye Ree lived at Skelton-in-Cleveland,
Yorkshire, Valentine Wray of Skelton, yom'n, for
uttering contemptuous words and threats against certain men - viz. Will. Gedge,
Anth. Hutton and Nich. Harker, bound as witnesses in
the matter of a certain felony committed by Chr. Hobson and Henry Robinson,
late of lastingham, in contempt &c. Made
submission, and paid fine of 20s (recorded by the Woodswell family
regarding the Wright Tucker families, North Riding Record Society, Quarter Sessions Records,
Vol. I).
