Sarah Baker was the daughter of
William and Ann (nee Hough) Baker (BAK00102),
born on 29 October 1817 (Dates of Birth of the
eleven children of William Baker of Highfields, 1834, Baker Records 31). She was baptised at Audlem on
10 March 1818 (Audlem Parish Records).
Sarah married James G Etches,
solicitor, of Whitchurch, Shropshire, and had issue (Burke, John and Burke, Sir Bernard (1836)(Eighteenth Edition, 1972), Bellyse Baker of Highfields
in Burke’s Landed Gentry, Volume 3, pages
35 to 38)

Sarah Baker married James Goulbourn
Etches (d 1869), a solicitor and later Master in Chancery, of Whitchurch,
Shropshire, son of William Etches, on 28 October 1845 at Audlem (Audlem Parish Records).
On the 28th ult at
Audlem by the Rev G Pitt, vicar, James Goulbourn Etches, Esq, Broughall House
near Whitchurch, Salop, to Sarah, eldest daughter of William Baker Esq of The
Highfields, near Audlem, Cheshire (Manchester Courier and
Lancashire General Advertiser, 8 November 1845)
James And Sarah had seven sons and
two daughters.
