John Farndale,
son of John & Elizabeth Farndale (FAR00230) of Kildale, labourer,
was baptised at Kildale on 30 August 1829 (Kildale PR).
Kildale
is up on the moors about 10km east of Great Ayton.
1851

1851 - Great Ayton:
John Farndale, age 21; born Kildale.
1854
John Farndale aged 25, bachelor, a farm servant
of Kirkleatham son of John Farndale (FAR00230), labourer, married Ann Thrattles aged 20, by banns, spinster servant of Boulby, daughter of Robert Thrattles,
an alum worker at the Parish Church, Easington, on 16 July 1854 (Marriage Certificate). John signed and Ann
made her mark. The witnesses were John Stonehouse and W Harrison. CF Morehead
was the Rector.
Boulby is on the coast
near Staithes.
1856

at Redcar in
1856.
1858
William Ralph Farndale (FAR00430) was
born at Stockton in
1858. He died in 1870 aged 11.

Thorpe Street, Stockton, son of John Farndale, farmer, deceased, married Ellen Thrattles aged 27 years also of 58 Thorpe street, Stockton,
by licence, daughter of Robert Thrattles, labourer,
deceased at the Weslyan Chapel, Stockton,
on 7 December 1873 (Marriage Certificate).
John signed, and Ellen made her mark. The witnesses were Ebenezer Vasey and
Mary Ann Vasey. Wensley Crouch was the Wesleyan Minister.
So when his wife
died, John married his sister in law.
