Wakefield

1856

John Farndale was born in Wakefield in or about 1856. He may have been a son of Thomas Farndale (FAR00344) of Wakefield before he married. There are no records of his birth (which suggests he might have been born out of marriage), but the census records evidence that he was born in Wakefield in or about 1856 (census). His birth in Wakefield suggests that Thomas was his most likely father, who would have been about 17. There is no evidence of John until he appeared in Leeds at the age of 25.

John Farndale was widowed, a sculptor employed by Mr Taylor, but now a patient at Leeds Township Infirmary, 123 Beckett Street, Leeds.

1922

John Farndale, 65, born about 1856, died in 1922 in Leeds. He was buried at Leeds General Cemetery on 8 March 1922 (Find a grave index). His death was registered in the first quarter of 1857 (GRO Vol 9b page 507).
