Ruswarp, Whitby

1867

Maria J Farndale, daughter of William and Ann Farndale (FAR00289) was born in Ruswarp in 1867.

Mary adopted the name Farndale and lived with William Farndale. But she was in fact Maria Jane Lennard whose father was Robert Lennard. Perhaps she was a niece of William’s wife Ann, and came to live with them and for some reason was adopted as a Farndale?

There is no Maria J Farndale of that time.

For whatever reason Maria Jane was living with William and using the Farndale name during her childhood.

This was almost certainly someone else, especially as she was by then Maria Lennard, but the address is the same.
