John Henry Farndale, son of Thomas and Mary (nee Johnston, check) Farndell (FAR00279) was born in Carlisle District in 1864. John Henry Farndale’s birth was registered in Carlisle District in the first quarter of 1864 (GRO Vol 10b page 445).

There is no record in census records or otherwise after his birth.

 

1886

 

But he appeared as a witness in Carlisle in 1886.  Carlisle Patriot, 7 May 1886: AN “INNOCENT” AT BURGH RACES. A LEASP THROUGH THE VICARAGE WINDOW. At the courts on Saturday, a man named Michael Riley, a gambler who follows race meetings, was charged with wilfully damaging a window in Burgh Vicarage to the amount of £2 15s 0d, on the previous Monday.... A man named John Henry Farndale proved that he saw the prisoner Riley at the machine when he went on the course....
