Kenneth Farndale, son of William Leng and Margaret (nee Johnston) Farndale (FAR00539) was born in Rothbury District on 9 January 1911 (1939 Register). Kenneth Farndale’s birth was registered in Rothbury, Northumberland in the first quarter of 1911 (GRO Vol 10b page 515).

1927

There is a record of a Kenneth Farndale, age 16, born 1911 who arrived in Quebec, Canada in 1927 amongst boys brought to Canada by the British Immigration and Colonisation Association.   He departed from Liverpool on 2 September 1927 on the Canadian Pacific Line (“The Montrose”). His occupation was shown as farming.  (National Archives of Canada)   

1931

There is a record of him departing on the Canadian Pacific Line (“The Montrose”) from Montreal, Canada and arriving at Antwerp on 21 November 1931. He was aged 20.
