Hull Daily Mail, 9 July 1934: WITHERNSEA BRIDE. SEVEN ATTENDANTS AT SEASIDE WEDDING. Hull Road Methodist Church, Withernsea, was the scene of a pretty marriage on Saturday, when Miss Madge Farndale, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J Farndale, of Cestria, Seacroft Road, Withensea, was married to Mr Raymond Edgar Mell, of Hull, son of Mr and Mrs W H Mell. The Rev W E Farndale, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Rev G H Ireland, performed the ceremony, which was fully choral. The bride was attired in ivory satin beaute, with fitting bodice and tight fitting sleeves and skirt flared from the knee. She wore a wreath and veil, and carried a sheaf of lilies. Miss Betty Farndale, sister, Miss Enid Farndale, cousin, and Cecilia Harrison, dressed in lemon organdie, trimmed with pastel blue organdie flowers at the neck, and lemon petal hats , were the bridesmaids, and there were also four little attendants, Denise and Barbara Hughes, cousins, and Valerie and Betty Drewery, in pastel blue organdie with petal hats to match. The bouquets were of sweet peas. The bridegroom's eldest brother, Mr Claude Mell, was best man. They reception was held at the Church Institute, and the honeymoon is to spend be spent touring. The gowns and dresses were made by Cicely Harrison, 126, Queen Street North, Withensea.
