Bedale) and Jane Farndale (nee Gale) (FAR00377) was born in Firby on
20 May 1873 (1939 Register) (BC). His birth was registered in Bedale
District by Jane Farndale, his mother of Firby, on 14 June 1873. He was
baptised on 13 June 1873 at Bedale (GRO Vol 9d page
528).

annual district meeting on Saturday, 21 delegates being present, representing
12 lodges, composed of 1,648 adult members. The business was conducted under
the chairmanship of brother William Brown DGM, assisted by brother J R Lillystone, DDGM. The financial report, as given by the
District Corresponding Secretary, Brother T Wrighton, showed the District to be
making satisfactory progress under the present existing circumstances of dull

OF DRUIDS. STOCKTON DISTRICT’S ANNUAL MEETING. Brother Henry Pallant DGM,
presided over the annual meeting of the Stockton Equalised District of the
Order of Druids Friendly Society, which was held at the Borough Hotel,
Stockton, on Saturday. There were 23 delegates present... The following were
duly elected as district officials... The Committee of Management Members
are... Brother James Farndale, PA... A resolution was unanimously passed
condemning the State Insurance Bill in its entirety, the meeting pledging
themselves to use their upmost legitimate powers towards its repression.
The
State Insurance scheme was discussed in Parliament in August 1914 and related
to the introduction of National Insurance, originally a scheme for health
insurance for industrial workers.
