She was bought by Mr J S Smith, coal hawker, Spring Street, The Bank. She is now 26 years old and blind. In spite of the fact that she had led two loads of coal before going to the show, she ran Charlie very close for the Tetley Cup. A new cup was presented by Harrison, Barber and Co Limited, for the best horse in the market and hawkers’ classes. It was won by “Sunshine”, a lively black pony, six years old, owned by Mr F Farndale, Beeston Royds. The entries were a record again, the total of 127 being 22 more than last year.
