Wilson Farndale, son of John Farndale (FAR00177) of Kilton, junior, was baptised at Brotton on 26 October 1794 (Brotton PR & IGI).

 

1830

 

Wilson Farndale married Margaret Wilkinson at St Mary, Norton, (Stockton) on 25 December 1830.

 

1833

 

Jane Farndale (FAR00322) was born at Norton in or about 1833.

1855

 

Wilson Farndale won a prize for his vegetables at the Whitby Floral and Horticultural Society in 1855.

 

York Herald, 14 July 1855: COTTAGERS’ PRIZES. (By Special Donation). Tray of three varieties of vegetables – 1, John Hansen, Carr’s Cottage; 2, Wilson Farndale; 3, Jane Addison.

 

1857

 

Wilson Farndale, died in 1857 and was buried at St Oswald Church, Lythe on 14 January 1857. He was aged 62.

 

1882

 

Wilson’s widow, Margaret, died in 1882 aged 79.

 

Yorkshire Gazette, 14 January 1882: FARNDALE – On the 3rd inst, at Lythe, Whitby aged 79, Margaret, widow of Wilson Farndale.

 

1902

 

Much later, in 1902, Wilson and Margaret’s daughter Jane Farndale published an In Memoriam in the Whitby Gazette, 10 January 1902:

 

In memory of my dear mother, Margaret Farndale, widow of Wilson Farndale, who died at Lythe, January 2nd, 1882.
