APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMONSES. Mr Simpson complained of a number of boys who were in the habit of frequenting Shaftesbury terrace, Yarm Lane and causing a disturbance there by getting a cart, raising it up in front of the houses, climbing the shafts and shouting relatedly … Mr Farndale, the deputy clerk, said it was a breach of the law, and the Bench ordered a summons to be issued.

ASSAULTS. William Farndale had charged Charles Dunn with assault, said to have been committed on Sunday night. Complainant did not appear, and the charge was dismissed.

Northern Echo, 14 June 1882: A FRAUDULENT STOCKTON BANKRUPT. Yesterday, at Stockton Police Court, William Angelo Laurent, formally a tobacconist etc, residing at Dovecot Street, Stockton, was brought up in custody, having been apprehended at Barrow in Furness, charged with four offences under the Bankruptcy act. Mr W R Bolsover prosecuted, and Mr Woodward defended. Mr Bolsover said it was a prosecution ordered by the Judge of the County Court under the Debtors Act of 1869, and he was instructed by the Treasury to prosecute. The defendant was a liquidating debtor. The meeting of creditors was held on the 11th of May last, and a resolution was passed appointing Mr George Hudson trustee under the liquidation. He called Mr William Farndale, a clerk in the employment of the Registrar of the County Court, Stockton, who produced the official file of the proceedings in the matter of William Angelo Laurent, liquidating debtor....
