1727

William Farndale, must have been born in or about 1727, to reconcile with the date of his marriage below. He was probably the son of William and Mary Farndale (FAR00125) of Brotton. Otherwise he may have been the son of William Farndale (FAR00123) of Skelton, Brotton, Liverton and Kilton.

1750

William Farndale, of the Parish of Brotton married Mary Taylor of Liverton by Banns at Liverton on 11 Feb 1750 (Liverton PR). There is a record of the death of Mary Farndale a widow aged 98 in 1810, so she would have been born in or about 1712. So Mary would have been 38 when she married and William would have been 23.

1810

The Hull Advertiser, 27 January 1810: DEATHS … On Saturday 13 inst, at Kilton, near Guisborough, aged 98, Mrs Mary Farndale, widow.

Bailey’s Records of Longevity, 1857 by Thomas Bailey states, Mary Farndall a widow of Kilton near Gainsborough (this is clearly a reference to Guisborough) died 1810 aged 98. She was therefore born in 1712.
