Joseph Farndale, son of Richard (agricultural labourer of Great Ayton) and Esther (nee Thwaites) Farndale (FAR00288), was born in Great Ayton, and baptised at Great Ayton on 13 January 1856 (Great Ayton PR). Joseph Farndale’s birth was registered in Malton District in the fourth quarter of 1855 (GRO Vol 9d page 395).
