The Poor Law placed legal obligation on parishes to care for those unable to work. Three classes were introduced – the able bodied poor who were offered work in houses of correction; the impotent; and persistent idlers.

Georgins (George) ffarndayle, baptised on 28 March 1602 in Skelton and buried on 17 August 1693in Loftus (FAR00073). The Kirkleatham Skelton Line. George had a house with one hearth in Moorsholm in the 1670s.

Rychards ffarnedayle, baptised on 3 February 1604 in Skelton (FAR00075). The Kirkleatham Skelton Line and Founder of the Liverton 1 Line. Rychards moved his family to Liverton from Skelton. He was church warden of Liverton church in 1635.

James Farndale, born in 1630 in Skelton and buried on 22 October 1682 in Skelton (FAR00080). The Skelton 1 Line and Founder of the Moorsholm 1 Line. He lived with his family in Moorsholm and is recorded relative to the hearth taxes in 1660 to 1680.

A Liverton Family, Nicholas had four children from his first marriage and two from his second. He had a house with one hearth in Liverton from 1660 to 1680.
