19832 Private James Farndale 1st Devonshire Regiment later 35864 of the Wiltshire Regiment, awarded the British War Medal, the Victory Medal and the 1914 -15 Star. Served in Egypt in 1915.

Letter from ?: "James Farndale, was my husbandís father and was born on 16 Jun 1895 at Wadsworth Lincs. He went to school at Hareworth. He worked at animal husbandry and served in both World Wars. In WW1 he tended the horses. His war service was 31 Aug 1914 to 10 Mar 1919 and from 1939 to 1941. He married Mary Fairburn and they had nine children."
