Joseph Farndale,
son of Samuel and Elizabeth (nee Hutton) Farndale (FAR00149) of Kilton was baptised at Brotton on 25 October 1795 (Brotton PR).
1817
Joseph Farndale bachelor and Mary Hill spinster
both of Ayton married at Great Ayton, by Banns on 10 April 1817. The
witnesses were Elizabeth Hill, Richard Hill and John Longstaff. (Great Ayton PR) He was aged 22.
1818
Richard Farndale (FAR00263)
was born at Nunthorpe on 15 February 1818 (Great
Ayton PR).
Nunthorpe is now
in southern Middlesborough, and about 5 miles north
of Great
Ayton.
1819
John Farndale (FAR00267)
was born at Nunthorpe on 20 November 1819 and baptised at Great Ayton on 20
January 1820 (Great Ayton PR).

was born Nunthorpe and baptised on 4 November 1821 (Great
Ayton PR).

York Herald, 1 April 1854: NEWTON, NEAR
GUISBOROUGH. Important SALE of valuable OAK and ASH
TIMBER. To Timber Merchants, Ship Builders, Railway Contractors, Cartwrights,
and others. TO BE SOLD AT ACTION, by MR TODD, on THURSDAY, the 20th
day of April 1854, 2,120 valuable OAK TREES, in FIVE Lots, the Timber and Bark
of which is of excellent quality. Also a quantity of ASH and other IMBER, now
growing in the Woods at Newton. The roads are good, and contiguous with good
Turnpike Roads, and within One Mile of Hutton Low Cross Station, on the
Guisborough and Middlesborough Railway. The Lots can be viewed any day previous
to the Sale, on application to MR JOSEPH FARNDALE, Great Ayton. Sale to
commence at One o’Clock for Two precisely.

Mary Farndale,
81, born 1793, died in Stokesley District in the first quarter of 1874 (GRO Vol 9d page 333). She was buried in Great
Ayton on 26 February 1874 at All Saints Church (Great
Ayton PR).
1877
Joseph Farndale died aged 88 on 20 April 1877 and
the death was registered at Guisborough
in the second quarter of 1877 (GRO Volume 9d page
329). He was buried on 23 April 1877 (Great
Ayton PR).
