Charles Farndale, son of James and Elizabeth Ann (nee Shepherdson) Farndale (FAR00427), was born in Malton District on 17 August 1906 (1939 Census) and baptised at Huttons Ambo on 14 October 1906 (Huttons Ambo PR). Charles Farndale’s birth was registered in Malton District in the third quarter of 1906 (GRO Vol 9d page 425).

Military Service

543695 Charles Farndale, born Huttons Ambro, a groom, enlisted into the Royal Tanks Corps on 9 May 1924 (Royal Tank Corps Enlistment Records 1919 to 1934). He attested at Winchester. He served with the 13/18^th and 15^th/19^th Hussars in 1924 and 1925.

Charles Farndale, married Lilian Atack in 1947 and their marriage was registered in the first quarter of 1947 in Leeds District (GRO Vol 2c page 479).

Lilian Atack was the daughter of Tom Atack (1894 to 1960) and Annie Elizabeth (nee Earnshaw) Atack (1893 to 1929) and was born at Holbeck on 17 April 1918.

Their daughter, Patricia A Farndale (FAR01018) was born in the fourth quarter of 1947 in Leeds District.

1956

Their son, John Nicholas Farndale (FAR01078) was born in the first quarter of 1956 in Leeds District.

1964

Charles Farndale, died age 58 in 1964 and his death was registered at Leeds District in the fourth quarter of 1964 (GRO Vol 2c page 336).

1997

Lillian Farndale, born on 17 April 1918, died in 1997, aged 79, and her death was registered in Blackpool and Flyde, Lancashire in the second quarter of 1997 (GRO District 5811C, Register Number C45C entry 42).
