About 1777. There was a James Taylor, son of Thomas and Jane Taylor, born on 20 January 1780 at Hinderwell. Hinderwell is 10km NW of Whitby.

Married Ann Biggins at Sneaton on 9 December 1809. James was a labourer.

He was a labourer when Elizabeth was born in May 1810 and a farmer when Elizabeth married Martin Farndale in February 1842.
